iPhone XR Durability Test – is the ‘cheap’ iPhone weak?

Apple’s liberated quite a few brand-new phones thisyear. The iPhone XS and XS Max, which I’ve alreadytested on my direct, and then 6 different flavors of this person: the iPhone XR. It’s mostly Apple’s iPhone with the priceof a flagship. I requested on Twitter which shade of the iPhoneXR I should test today, and it was a close call, but the peachy coral version was chosenas tribute, which is kind of good because our brand new blue friend isn’t even turningon this morning. He’s got a little bit of performance anxiety. I’ll plug him in and we’ll start with peachy.( stillnes) Let’s is starting.[ Intro] Inside the box we have the standard sluggish charger, together with the lightning headphones that you can’t use anywhere else. And the proprietary lightning cord with nodongle for the missing headphone jack. Let’s start with the scratch test. The one aspect that goes expended more than anythingelse on a smartphone by far is the screen. The biggest downside of the iPhone XR, besidesbeing a flagship priced plan telephone, is the screen. There’s been a 1080 p decide standard acrosscomputer screens, TVs and cell phones for the past 3 years.[ Phone voice saying staying healthful .] Even the iPhone 6 Plus released 4 years agohad a super characterized 1080 p expose. But Apple here, sneakily sagged the iPhoneXR from a high definition 1080 p screen down to exactly 828. You can always say iPhone users exactly don’treally be concerned about specs, but there’s a line that got bridged when Apple takes advantageof that and keeps the high price of $800 after taxation, while handing out hardware from 5 yearsago. Glass is still glass though, and scratchesat a level 6 with deeper flutes at a degree 7. Apple’s never been a leader in screen resolution, but going backwards in engineering is a slap in the face to unsuspecting customers. There’s one 7 megapixel front facing camerahidden up in the notch, along with a metal earpiece grille, very solidly attached andwill never be coming out on it’s own. Another difference between the XS and XR isthe structure substance. While the more expensive XS is made from stainlesssteel, the regular expensive XR is made from softer aluminum anodized aluminum.Anodizing is a pretty amazing process wherethe metal is dipped and electrically coated in a super hard-bitten protective stratum of oxide, and could literally be any color we want. So it concludes the pigment matching look prettysweet. Even the SIM card tray with no expandablememory slot came dipped in the same anodizing bath. The buttons are made from metal, along withthe top of the phone, and the new substitution slider over here on the side. I still envisage every phone should have oneof these switchings. The capacity buttons are made from metal. And the bottom of the phone, right next tothat missing headphone jack is also metal. The only thing down here is the lightningport and the little metal grilles for the roaring orator and microphone. The back of the iPhone XR is made from glass. It still has that wireless charging. I recollect the coloring is a great idea and definitelyadds a delightful splash of uniqueness to the smartphone world. If the Apple logo gently brightened for notificationslike it does on the Razer Phone, it would look even cool. The flashing is under the back glass and protected, along with the little wire microphone grille. Which now fetches us up to the camera. Apple’s cameras are incredibly good. Really retain though, that the screen on thisiPhone XR can’t depict all the pixels your camera captivates when you use it – kind of blows mymind. Let’s say you take a picture and affix it toInstagram.Instagram publishes likeness in 1080 pixel blocks. The iPhone XR is 252 pixels short of thatand literally can’t register Instagram paintings at full character. This is an $ 800 telephone that can’t even socialmedia right. Not to mention, Apple is still advertisinga sapphire lens cover protecting the camera, which should scratch at a statu 8 or 9 onMohs scale of hardness, yet we are still seeing heavy celebrates at stages 6, 7, and 8. Other sapphire creators like this Tissotwatch face manage pure sapphire just fine. The Tissot sapphire has no scratches belowa elevation 8. It’s kind of messed up that with Apple youaren’t getting what you pay for on so many levels. The phones are very pretty though. No doubt about that. But if all you want is just beautiful, surfacelevel esthetics, or time want to cover up the Apple logo, precisely deplete a few cases dollars andslap a dbrand skin on your current phone. Then use the rest of the money you had savedto literally book a round trip ticket to Hawaii. You can get to Hawaii and back from basicallyanywhere in the USA for the price of this telephone. The inexpensive surfaces are related in the description.Huge thanks to dbrand for patronizing thisvideo and provoking colorful phones everywhere. Not to mention, if you purchased basicallyany other phone in the past 3 years, you’ll be able to Instagram at full quality on yourtrip. You might be like,’ but Jerry, what aboutYouTube? Is the YouTube app still going to work okaywith this lower resolution screen ?’ Yeah, it manipulates. 720 P is just fine, it’ll even pretend to letyou select 1080 p. And of course, the XR will use your data tostream that 1080 into telephone, but you won’t get the high-pitched definition displayed on yourscreen. The pixels exactly aren’t physically there todo it. Of direction, if you have seen someone who hasor compassions this telephone, there’s no need to make fun of them. Remember, they are just 252 pixel rows shortof the complete picture, and not quite all the way there hardware-wise…if you catch mydrift. The iPhone XR is a 6.1 inch, 828 x1792 ipsLCD and lasted 10 seconds under the heat from my inferno, becoming altogether black and turningoff. It’s kind of a risk to burn pixels on theXR when it doesn’t have any to spare in the first place, but they all did make it backto life with a full recovery. Now it’s time for the crouch experiment. Apple is using the stronger 7000 serials aluminumon the iPhone XR, so it should be solid. But the only way to find out for sure is witha structural flex. Bending from the figurehead relented no movementin the phone. No wrinkles in the frame or bending in the body. Bending from the back got the slightest offlexes, but good-for-nothing to get excited about. Our little orange friend is built like a solid, low-toned solving brick. If Apple billed $500, or maybe even $600 for this hardware, I’d be pretty gushed. But accusing $800 after tariff for this is likerobbing an old folks home. Yeah, it’s easy and your targets won’t notice, but it’s just…wrong. Apple didn’t get to be a trillion dollar companyby selling material at a fair rate though. So it is what it is. The XR is structurally announced, even if thesapphire isn’t pure and the screen automatically downgrades Instagram and YouTube, it doespass my soundnes research. I’ll probably tell on this unharmed blueiPhone XR over on my Twitter or Instagram. So come hang out over there for the giveaway. You can always sell it and buy yourself areal telephone. Customize your current phone with the dbrandlink in the specific characteristics. And thanks a ton for watching. I’ll be seeing you ..
