If youve recently purchased a new iPhone, you mayve been surprised that there was no charging brick in the box. This was a change Apple attained in the last year, and gave them quite a bit of resentment. After all, why wouldnt they include a chargingbrick with a thousand-dollar phone? Well thats what Ill explain right now. So Apples official reason is that not includinga charging brick with every iPhone is more environmentally friendly. And there is some truth to that. The information that performs up each ability brickis a highly durable plastic designed to keep users safe if the unit overheats. But that too means its difficult to breakdown and recycle. Contributing to the growing e-waste problem. Plus , not including a strength brick or headphonesmeans a smaller box. Allowing Apple to fit 70% more iPhones oneach shipping pallet. In total, the reduction in carbon emissionswould be like removing 450,000 automobiles from the road each year. Apple too was of the view that over 2 billion iPhonepower bricks are already in circulation, so most useds wouldnt need a new one anyway.But theres more to the story that Applehasnt mentioned. For lesson, the overwhelming majority of the powerbricks already in use arent USB-C. Which entails the cable included with a new iPhonewont plug in to an aged brick. Forcing useds to continue using their oldcable that may be worn, frayed, or inaccurate. Also, there is a huge fiscal side tothis decision that Apple hasnt acknowledged. The iPhone 12 patterns were the first to feature5G, and including that technology wasnt cheap. Previously, the iPhone 11 Pros most expensivecomponent was its triple lens camera system at about $73. But with the iPhone 12, the 5G modem becameits priciest ingredient. At about $90. And this additional expense wasnt limitedto the higher-priced iPhone mannequins as was the case with the triple lens camera. Instead, every model, includes the $ 700 12 mini, had to account for the $90 modem. So in an effort to cut costs and retain ahigh profit margin, Apple stopped including a accuse brick and headphones, while enjoyingreduced send rates since they could fit 70% more units on each pallet. So while it is true that these changes benefitthe environment to some degree, the characteristics of dark-green Apple really appeared to be after wasmoney.
